*AMPS....if you've ever owned a GREAT amp, like a Marshall 18 watt, a VOX AC15, a Marshall JTM45 and if you have a place where you can crank them up loud, then you know what I'm talking about...
Smack a power chord and you (not only) hear the fundamental notes...but you get (count 'em) 4, 5, even 6 additional overtones ringing into a feedback... notes that you can whistle if your ear is good enough! Think; Zep's "Ocean," "Custard Pie," Classic tones including James Gang, the Beatles, AC/DC, FREE., etc.
Back off the guitar's volume and there are a dozen great other sounds at your fingertips... Clean, spanky sounds, with all the highs and lows still intact. And a Tele still sounds like a Tele, a Les Paul like a Les Paul.
PEDALS (until now) just can't hold a candle to what a good amp can do if you are really picky. You not only lose all the touch sensitivity, but forget about those complex Harmonics. (For me) It's always been somewhat of a compromise using Overdrive pedals... until now. Ladies and Gentleman, I am proud to introduce the Fulltone OCD. I made this pedal for me, but I think you might like it too

Clyde McCoy was a big-band Trumpet Player in the '60s... not a great musician, but one famous for getting a muted "wah wah" sound. This led to Vox trying to approximate this muted trumpet sound in a pedal... hence the Vox "Clyde McCoy" wah wah circa 1967.
Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton used a Vox "Clyde McCoy" model wah wah. Photos taken during the recording of "Electric Ladyland" document Jimi's as being the "signature" model, featuring Clyde McCoy's name written out script style on the bottomplate. The other type of Clyde McCoy was the "picture" version, which had Clyde's photo on the bottomplate. The "signature" model, with it's great sounding "halo" inductor, is what the Fulltone CLYDE is modeled after.
The Fulltone "CLYDE" was born from taking the best of the best of my more than 25 pc. vintage Vox wah collection, and analyzing every aspect... going so far as sacrificing a few of the vintage inductors to get it right.

Every played an original FuzzFxxe from around 1970? Hint: not AT ALL the same sound as ones with the same namesake being mass-produced currently) Ours has Two intentionally mismatched (for Harmonic content) Silicon transistors that snarl and spit... not for the meek! If you put the "Fuzz" on 10 you will rip, and you might get all sorts of oscillation and weirdness...but that's Rock. Don't try using it with a wah wah...you can't, and neither could Jimi, without it screaming and howling. You want polite and quiet?...go elsewhere. You want art in a box? Come on in.
Housed in a 16 gauge steel box and Powder coated Deep Blue, this pedal is a bit unruly but with some warmth... ideal for older 4 input Marshall amps, it has much more FUZZ than the '69 Pedal and includes a Mid control for extra clarity and cut.

Seymour Duncan SFX-08 Power Grid

description
As a guitarist, when you need power, it’s generally because you want to lay down chunky rhythms or you need to bust out a blazing solo. Enter the Power Grid, Seymour Duncan’s newest stompbox, which is designed to provide powerful overdrive and distortion suitable for rhythm and lead playing, thanks to five stages of class A, discrete circuitry, which are cascaded to provide nearly 100dB of gain. Now that’s power!
But the Power Grid is not an untamed beast. All this raw horsepower is managed by a multi-element gain and volume control system that allows fine control. For example, if you crank the gain, you’ll get a very thick, saturated “Modded British” distortion, reminiscent of the big guitar sounds that defined metal. But if you back the gain off, you’ll get a very responsive “crunch” distortion similar to the Rhythm Channel on the SFX-03 Twin Tube Classic. And in between there are myriad levels of overdrive and distortion.
With the Power Grid, your tone is further refined thanks to a three bands of active EQ. Each band allows for up to 12dB of boost or cut at frequencies selected for maximum control of the electric guitar. This allows you to create tones with a far greater degree of surgical precision than what’s possible with any distortion pedal with passive EQ. With all the power and control built into the SFX-08 Power Grid, it could just be the last distortion pedal you buy. Ever!
